THE OBJECT
DESIGNED BY HEDI SLIMANE, THE CANDLE HOLDER RECAPTURES THE LINES OF THE PERFUME BOTTLE IN THE CELINE HAUTE PARFUMERIE COLLECTION AND IS IN KEEPING WITH THE TRADITION OF FRENCH GLASSMAKING.
IN FACETED AND BLOCK-TINTED BLACK GLASS, IT IS INSPIRED BY THE DESIGN OF AN 18TH CENTURY FACETED SILVER GOBLET. THE CANDLE’S BOX AND LABEL ARE ADORNED IN PAPER WITH A “GRAIN DE POUDRE” FEEL AND ARE EMBOSSED WITH THE RECREATION OF 17TH CENTURY MOLDING.
THE MAISON’S “TRIOMPHE” EMBLEM IS EMBOSSED ON THE TOP OF THE BOX.
THE WAX-MAKER’S SAVOIR-FAIRE
GUIDED BY HEDI SLIMANE, PERFUMERS AND WAX-MAKERS COMBINE TALENTS AND SAVOIR-FAIRE. EACH PIECE UNDERGOES THE METICULOUS PRODUCTION METHOD DEVELOPED BY THE MAISON’S WAX-MAKER, ALMOST UNIQUE IN FRANCE AS TO HAVE ALSO RECEIVED TRAINING AS A PERFUMER.
THE STAGES IN PRODUCTION ARE DESIGNED TO FAITHFULLY RECREATE THE ACCORDS AND PRESERVE THE QUALITY OF THE INGREDIENTS CHOSEN BY THE PERFUMERS:
1 SLOW CASTING WITH A 24H RESTING PERIOD BEFORE THE SMOOTHING STAGE ON THE CANDLE’S SURFACE.
2 PRODUCTION IN SMALL LOTS OF A MAXIMUM OF 1000 PIECES. ONE SINGLE PROCESS TO AVOID THE PERFUME CONCENTRATE FROM HEATING FOR MORE THAN ONE HOUR WHEN IT IS MIXED WITH THE CANDLES AND OILS.
3 A LENGTHY PAUSE IN THE OPEN AIR, THE TIME NEEDED FOR THE WAX TO SOLIDIFY NATURALLY IN ORDER TO PRESERVE THE PERFUME.
